Call Line is a regular free, non-emergency service for lonely and vulnerable people who live within the Lanarkshire area.

Consistent and friendly contact can be of great comfort to people who live alone as they often feel a sense of isolation and their confidence is undermined. Family and friends may live some distance away and visitors are few.

The aim of the service is to make daily telephone calls to members for a friendly chat and to make sure they are OK. The calls are made by volunteers from Monday to Friday and are available in the morning or afternoon. These calls can be made from our Call Line room here at LDVG or at home using one of our provided mobile phones. If you or someone you know could benefit from this valuable service or if you would like to volunteer to help, please get in touch.

What our members have to say:

"Sometimes this is the only person I speak to all day. I really look forward to my chat with the call service people.”

“It is nice to know that someone cares. It’s just a telephone call but it really helps me to feel more secure.”

“I can always rely on a nice friendly talk from the volunteers. My daily calls bring me peace of mind and cheer me up when I’m feeling down.”
