During the week three popular lunchtime groups meet at the Larkhall premises. These are held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays every week from 11am until 1.30pm. Those taking part can arrange to be picked up and dropped off at their homes in our minibus by the organisation’s voluntary drivers.
Members can enjoy a card game, then tuck into a hot two-course lunch or a salad, followed by an activity session which features a quiz, bingo, dominoes or whatever the group prefers.
There are also lunch clubs which take place each week in the community wings of three South Lanarkshire primary schools, two in Larkhall and one in the nearby village of Quarter. The Larkhall lunch clubs are: each Wednesday in Hareleeshill Primary and on a Monday and Thursday in Strutherhill Primary. The other lunch club is on a Tuesday in the community wing of Quarter Primary School.
Here are some of the comments from a few of our current club members:
“I really enjoy coming to the lunch club twice-a-week. The minibus picks me up from home. The bus has a lift and as walking has become difficult for me recently, I can now get out and meet people.”
“I love getting out and meeting new and old pals at the lunch club. The bingo afterwards is good fun.”
“I used to watch daytime telly every day and have a bite to eat when I watched Loose Women. The lunch club a couple of times a week has made a big difference and made me much happier.”
Due to expansion, we now have further spaces for those seeking to join the lunch clubs at our premises in 55 Victoria Street.
